Food Distribution

Where:

Hispanic Cultural Center in Mt. View
4233 Mt. View Drive
Anchorage, Alaska

The general food distribution is held on the third Saturday of each month during the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The seniors and children supplemental boxes are distributed on the morning of the fourth Saturday of each month.

The Latino Lions Club has over 300 registered recipients for their monthly distribution of food through the Anchorage Anti-Hunger Network of the Food Bank of Alaska.  Although there are 300+ registered qualified families, the number of families served each month are under 200.  However, due to the large number of family members the monthly recipients of the food run between 400 and 500 recipients each month.

Over 30 seniors (over the age of 60) are registered. Their senior box generally  consists of  a box weighing 40 pounds of food consisting of milk, juice, cheese, cereals and a variety of canned goods.

The children’s and pregnant women (children under six and mothers that are not on WIC) box usually weights between 40 and 45 pounds.

While individuals/families can register for the distributed food throughout the year, everyone is obligated to re-register in October of each year.
